Does McKenna deserve even more credit that he's been getting? 13:12 - Feb 23 with 4902 viewsAsa

Most of us can see that 7 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats is an excellent start (those two defeats away to two of the form teams at the time as well), but to be on the verge of a club record so quickly?

What's amazing to me is that it won't just be a record for clean sheets that could be broken Saturday, something that we didn't achieve with some of the best defenders in the world or even in a McCarthy side that might set up to be super negative. It's the fact that during those 5 clean sheets and 8 in his first 11, we've won so many games, we've played some lovely stuff and we've not been at all boring to watch or what you'd associate with a side about to potentially break a hundred and something year old clean sheet record.

To do that straight off the bat, with a new side, one that was underperforming, with an oversized squad and so on is absolutely remarkable.

To climb the table at the same time, seemingly create a proper team harmony, I don't think anybody could have done a better job and it bodes incredibly well for next season and beyond, if not this season.

Bit disappointing to be worse supported than Burton last night though

Cheltenham were 3x better supported last night than we will likely be on Saturday.

Phenomenal support from the Robins. 20k on a Tuesday night, fair play to them.

earlier in the season we have more games of conceding 2+ goals than not which is actually really bad.

He seems to have changed the system and we have become more robust at the back (as well as Nsiala leaving ;) coincidence?? haha).

However, didn't Lambert equal the 5 clean sheets in a row in this league so I don't think its a MASSIVE thing to do considering the league we are in but still very good.

Keeping clean sheets is a good trait to have and so i'm glad for this! I hope we break the record saturday.

15 goals conceded in the opening 6 games. That's disgracefully bad.

At our rate under KM it would take 41 games to concede 15 goals*.

*I'm sure in reality we'll ship way more than that in 41 games, but the math doesn't lie at this juncture.

We're a big fish in League 1 - by far the biggest supported club in terms of AWAY* fans, and probably the biggest in terms of money as well. When we were in the top flight we were a small fish punching above our weight. So it will be harder, even if the players were better.

Ipswich have never been a small fish in any league, what makes you think this? Its like saying leeds/villa are small fishes in the prem because they spent time out, if you know your footy these clubs have a bigger genuine support base than chelski,we were on a par with west ham a few years ago and are capable of filling out our ground without any problem, i am old enough to remember every home game sold out in burley prem days. some of the teams in lge 1 are bigger fishes than prem/championship teams.

Do you have any evidence for this lack of harmony before McKenna arrived?

There might not've been enough harmony on the pitch but I'm unaware of any problems with each other off it.

Evidence? Like transfer listing and training with the U23s and frozen out of the squad? Like being singled out for criticism?

Where should I begin?

That's 1 or 2 players, hardly SQUAD harmony.

If you're going to call that a squad not being harmonious then Simpson's in a huff right now, so McKenna's squad isn't harmonious either.

But then that would be daft as well.

You trying to be funny? Cheltenham had 251 fans there last night. Are you suggesting we're taking less than 84 to Morecambe?!?
