Sorry if this has been talked about elsewhere or is common knowledge, but does anyone know why Toto hasn't taken a knee the last couple of games? I know he was doing it earlier in the season.

Really, so you don’t know what I am on about, but have sufficient knowledge for a down arrow.

Your post was abusive.

No it wasn’t. End of.

Every time someone describes the BLM movement as a negative I like to ask which right-leaning anti racist groups have voiced their support?

Fair point, but it shouldn’t even need to be made. Taking the knee is not exclusively showing support for BLM (it’s not their symbol to own, they only borrowed it). Many people and organisations have adopted taking the knee to show unity against racism, like football clubs for example.

Christ, even Millwall got this one right:
“Taking the knee, for us, is in no way representative of any agreement with political messaging or ideology. It is purely about tackling discrimination”.
https://www.millwallfc.co.uk/news/2020/december/first-team-squad-release-stateme

People who attack it on political grounds are either (a) racists, or (b) poor souls who’ve been used by racists in this stupid polarised culture war we’re in the middle of. Politicising it is an effective way of opposing anti-racism support by the back door.

I’d like to see more come from it and I think it’s fair to say taking the knee can feel like an empty gesture when you see nothing happening. But nothing will happen until everyone agrees and is on board, and that’s difficult to achieve when there are so many racists opposing it.

...slightly dim white people making pat statements about how black people should respond to racism is patronising at absolute best?

Not me love, it was Zaha that said it.

But you carry on being rude and argumentative, as per.

Precisely this.

Take a step back, stop being so patronising and relax.

Zaha (a black man) said about standing tall, I was simply giving that as the probable reason Nsialla followed suit. Not saying that’s what he should do!!

Get it now?

Not your call Paz.

You don’t get to define what is abusive.

You could simply apologise for using the term meltdown.

I’m not going to be apologising to you for using the word ‘meltdown’. It is not an abusive word. Ever thought perhaps you may be a little over sensitive?

There is nothing to 'get'.

If you're going to quote someone else then say so, instead of trying to pass it off as your own.

That way people will know what you're on about.

You cannot say something ambiguous and expect everyone else to know your point.

Woah - I’m calling this out as not abusive! You can’t just shut a guy down by crying ‘abuse’ just because you don’t like him or he has form elsewhere! This all sounds very similar to cancel culture.! I don’t like a lot of what Paz says, he is also very clumsy and does resort to abuse at times - but you can’t label everything he says as abusive just because he’s been abusive in the past.

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?

Not in this case Jeera - Herbe is saying that his post is offensive, it’s nothing to do with context. You can’t call something ‘abusive’ when it patently isn’t.

Some people on here are so concerned with finding a stick to beat me with, any stick, that they don’t realise how ridiculous they sound.

Paz, I’m not defending you. You do come across as pretty insensitive quite often, and I can see why some would call it abusive. You don’t help yourself.

What I am saying is that is that just because someone doesn’t like you they cannot label whatever you say as offensive as Herbie does, 2x now in this thread.

That’s all. I’m out of this thread!

Just out of interest do you find the word ‘gammon’ in the context of describing angry right-leaning men a term of abuse?
