"I think the consistency post the first 6 or 8 games has been a lot better& 12:26 - Nov 12 with 3579 viewsSouperJim

This quote from PC made me wonder what the league table would look like if we took away the first six games.

https://www.twtd.co.uk/league-tables/competition:league-one/form/matches:10/type

We'd be 4th, 2 points behind Rotherham and Plymouth in the automatic spots. Not too shabby, I think all but the harshest of critics would be satisfied with that.

30 games to go.

All we need to do is get the other 23 teams to agree to write off the first 6 games of the season and we'll be golden.

Disagree! All we need to do is keep up the form of the last 10 or so games and we’ll be there of there about, especially if, as is probable some of the teams above us will have a wobble or we will beat them when we play them. All to play for and don’t really get the rhetoric that to get into the PO’s is such a hard thing.

It’s not a hard thing from this position. Too many determined to put dampeners on it when the reality is we’ve been averaging 2pts a game since we ‘clicked’. We’ll make top four, whether we make top 2 will depend on who we beat above and around us. Anyone who can’t see or accept the trajectory without needing to throw loads of caution at it are just odd. They’ll miss half the season procrastinating and pouring scorn on everything until we make top two - I have no idea what the point of this or them is; enjoy it for what it is otherwise what’s the point on being on the journey!?

If we maintain that form for the remaining 30 games we'll end up on 83 points, which will likely see us around 4th. So long as we then win the play offs that would be a decent season.

Modern fans have the ability to tune into the occasional iFollow game hundreds of miles away from Portman Road, devoid of any appetite to travel home or away and then jump on to football forums and constantly correct others who do go to games. Take Herbs for example...

Alternately, you have a Badger who goes to games but then comes on a football forum to talk about football but barely ever passes comment on what he has actually watched.

Incidentally, its worth noting, both still on the fence over Cook...

That's the calibre of poster bringing the post down.

I'm surprised you're still going now that we've won a few games. I thought you only liked the managers who brought improved performances, not improved results.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

After 17 games we have 24 points which isn't spectacular. 6 more games till Xmas and the season mid-point and we should be looking for 2 points a game though though I still think we'd be outside the top 6.

Looking back 30 years 23 games again took us to Xmas when we had 35 points. We actually went 8 games without a win at one stage (5 draws followed by 3 defeats). The last 23 games we got 49 points.

At some point we need to go on a run of 3-4 consecutive wins, followed by the same again. So long as we're around the top 6 at Xmas I'd hope our points haul improves as injuries and suspensions hit other teams more than it should us.
