Used to be you needed to take the kick in one action. If you stopped or stuttered in your run up it would have to be retaken.
Another thing that annoys me is players not retreating ten yards at free kicks so as to stop it being taken. Used to be if they did that the kick would progress forward another ten. Perhaps it needs to be reinstated. |  |

That sounds like an excellent compromise. I would love to see a keeper smothering the penalty at the feet of the taker. |  |

Me too. A bit like they do in Ice Hockey. In that the taker starts at the half way line and the keeper does what he likes. It’s exciting. |  | | |
