Both had very good games today. After the last 2 matches, I feel like an idiot for saying Dozzell was ovverrated - he's quality playing in that deep position and with Downes playing just in front, it will allow us to break up opposition attacks further up the pitch, which happened a couple of times after he came on.
On the other hand, those saying Nolan isn't good enough are equally wrong. I feel like some saw him playing out of position when he first arrived and haven't changed their views since. Sure he goes missing at times, but he's very good at getting the ball out of tight situations and making forward runs, which we were lacking massively under McCarthy.
Still not convinced on the forward line, but our midfield options are scarily good for this level and with a settled system, we should be able to beat most others in the league. |  |
