A bullet dodged? Would people have taken him here?

no, no, NO terrible manager.

Warburton for me.

Bullet dodged (watch him take them up next year now!). imo the antidote to Mickball isn't more Mickball.

Edit: I see he's being described as a "hugely experienced forward-thinking manager" by the Reading chief exec. That's pushing it a bit. 3/4 of a season at Derby and two half seasons at Swansea, with one of those being a car crash.

He's obviously an experienced coach, but his leadership has really been called into question. From what I've heard about him he's not forward thinking either - he's all about working on position without the ball. Virtually nothing on situations with the ball. As I say, great if that's his role a coach, but a disaster waiting to happen if that the sole direction he takes a club.

Seems like a nice bloke though!

One of those like Mclaren and Brian Kidd who should stay at being assistants.

Clement would do well on Eastenders.

I don't think he is particularly all that - seems to struggle to set up a side to be both defensively solid and able to attack and score goals.

The defensive bit is ok. It's the attacking bit he has major problems with! His teams make us look like Ajax in their total football days.

Definitely a bullet dodged. What’s he ever achieved as a manager? I know he was an assistant / coach at Real Madrid, but that’s a world away from being the main man. Jaap Stam is 10 times better in my opinion.

I don't like him or Reading. Seems a really good match.

Truly impaired.

Thought he should never have got sacked at Derby.

Think he might do ok given time. Wouldn't have been unhappy to see him here.

I had the thought the other day, christ McLarens still looking for a job.

Hope he isn't a mate of Arry Redknapp.

No way, Warburton or Mowbray for myself.

Certainly a man who is better at being an assistant to Ancelotti.
