Mattress recommendations anyone? 18:41 - Feb 4 with 20651 views | BrixtonBlue | Could anyone recommend a mattress brand? I'm moving in with my girlfriend but we need a new mattress and haven't got a clue about them. We've got a budget of around £600. Any you'd recommend (or recommend steer clear of?)

Mattress recommendations anyone? on 21:12 - Feb 4 by Guthrum | Depressingly, UK standard sizes are smaller than European ones. |
Which might be just as well if the beds themselves are also smaller.

Mattress recommendations anyone? on 21:03 - Feb 4 by Guthrum | The only thing to watch with Ikea is the sizes - European ones differ from UK standard. |
As is my understanding, that's not the case anymore. We bought the bed separately and the mattress fits perfectly.

Where can I get a replacement for a European Kingsize..??

If they've changed it, that makes life easier. I built my own bed, to fit the mattress!

Mattress recommendations anyone? on 19:27 - Feb 4 by Guthrum | Not Silentnight. Bought one and within 18 months the springs had partly collapsed. Refused to replace, give a refund or acknowlege any responsibility. Was, surprisingly, only one sided, couldn't even turn it over. Not vastly cheap, either, about £250 (on offer). |
The springs collapsed after 18 months? What on earth had you been up to??

I'm beginning to wonder now Guthers, if you are not just one poster but a think tank of two to three hundred scholars with unlimited resources....latter day politics...check...14th century upholstery...check. Bloody mattresses....

Mattress recommendations anyone? on 06:13 - Feb 5 with 7495 views | C_HealyIsAPleasure | Glossing over your fantastic dedication to the ‘Where can I buy a...’ series, Feather and Blacks mattresses are superb You’ll need to up the budget a tad, but it’ll last you years and given that you’ll use it basically every day, it’s well worth it IMO

Having looked into this today with Mrs BFY, it turns out that our old Ikea bed frame was originally a European Kingsize, but nowadays is the same as a European Queen. The Simba Hybrid is available in that, so I've just ordered one. Went to couple of bed stores & laid out on Tempur (fantastic but hugely expensive £2000), I-gel (fantastic & not quite as expensive £1200), went through loads of others, but went for the Simba as its really comfortable & a fair compromise on price! (£674) Thanks for the info further up the thread.

'European Queen'. Sounds like a river boat. Or a rubbish Billy Ocean song. Either way, I reckon Dolly has shares in mattresses cos I'm now considering replacing my old one. He's making some sales it seems. The ol' advertising trick of power of suggestion.

Def in the Simba gang here, great mattress. Which scores the Eve and Emma ones very highly, so if you feel like sleeping with those girls.
Mattress recommendations anyone? on 13:15 - Sep 13 with 6145 views | sotd78 | We had a Vispring for 17 years - probably kept it too long really. We have a JohnRyan by Design matteress now - as good as the Vipsrung and cheaper. Buy natural materials and not memory foam would be my advice.

Mattress recommendations anyone? on 18:53 - Feb 4 by azuremerlangus | Memory foam is the way to go if you are allergy sufferers but I hate ours as they don't breathe like natural fibres do - too sweaty for my liking during the summer. Pocket sprung (the higher the number the better) is my preference from any of the big names (Hypnos, Silentnight, Sealey etc) with added lambs wool layer for extra warmth in the winter but breathes well in the summer. |
Not living with her is the way to go why change something if its not broken

....there's a thread down there with people giving advice on how much a gardener costs, 9 months after it was first asked. He could have done himself in that time. #jewellout
