I’m all for the idea of them helping to ween people off smoking but they really need to be more regulated. Clearly a way the large tobacco companies can continue to make their money. I have a member of staff, 19 year old lad - he’s just started smoking to try and quit vapes!

USA sweet shops in London on 14:08 - Nov 24 with 2898 views | clive_baker | They're horrible, popping up on Oxford street more and more. Not a great look, and pretty naff appeal for tourists etc with interesting shops closing down and being replaced by this tat. I was always under the impression they were a tax evasion mechanism. Sooner these are clamped down the better.

I prefer the suitcases, they're old school. The frontages of these things are what offends me most - Shiny tacky plastic things with a USA flag. The pop ups are great, love seeing some bloke on a microphone and a crowd around him. 'For one day only, twenty quid'.

USA sweet shops in London on 15:21 - Nov 24 with 2709 views | hype313 | It's odd, a large majority of visitors to Oxford St are Americans, can't imagine they are overly excited to see sweets they can get from their local 7/11 every 5 yards. Equally, I wouldn't be tickled pink if I went to NYC and found a plethora of shops selling Freddos.

The ‘Box of meat’ for a tenner from one of those vans always intrigued me. Bloke at the back barking the offer, couple of lads at the front dishing them out. Or a complete dinner service displayed on the arms like a circus act! Lovely stuff.

I quite like those sour Mike & Ikes and Swedish Fish are alright, but aside from that, I concur.

Yes, vape liquids should only be bought from a proper vape shop. A lot of the cheap, large bottles of vape juice are not up to EU standards, whereas the brands you can buy in a proper vape shop will do. I used to be a heavy smoker, swapped to vaping three years ago and ditched the nicotine about a year ago. A good rule of thumb is that if the shop offers laptop repairs and phone cases, don't buy your vape juice there. Also worth checking trustpilot before using any independent chains and searching the products they advertise on their website.

My local Albanian-run international food mart has all the good British chocolate, Jacob’s cream crackers, mcvities digestives, tins of quality Street…. It’s great. The pricing is often inconsistent but I’ll take it. They also have an entire aisle of Turkish Delight. Who’s buying that stuff?

I had to go back to smoking to quit vaping and then quit smoking. As someone who vaped for 6 or so years, I can tell you now you’ll notice it impact your health if you do it for a while, even if it is an improvement on fags initially. We are test subjects in a game of making money because business can plead ignorance legally for now and say what they want. Give it 2-3 decades when time/data tells a clear story and it’s no longer theory. We’re in a similar boat with climate change too. Same logic and energy.

Many of these shops and car washes are sumply a money laundering scam. foreign Johnny goes to the ban and pays in a large sum in cash 'Came from my shop/car wash, innit" Foreign Johnny then has legit money were it to be pulled in. This was going on long before naughty foreigners got involved, but thanks to the government thinking it a good idea to cut back on civil servants (tax officials) then this is open to such activity. However, Hunt did state last week that extra funding will be put in place to try and replace some of the lost staff. Not brilliant, but at least a recognition of the previous idiot policy.

My personal theory on vapes is that they will likely prove detrimental to long term health but in a different and likely less serious fashion than smoking. I mean, you're still basically inhaling a load of poisons. Just poisons without tar in them.

And this is one of the reasons I maintain that Harry is deep cover Russian trollbot designed to discredit lefties. Every so often, so algorithm throws up something like this. He's probably going to call me his stalker or 'tadger' in a minute. [Post edited 24 Nov 2022 19:43]

It's not really a wind up if it's you posting in exactly the same style though, is it? It's like [redacted] posting something low-key racist and claiming he didn't mean it.

It’s like playing football with someone who occasionally scores an own goal by smashing it in the back net point blank.
