They're always about strengthening what you have, rather than making wholesale improvements. KM has a squad, and the real task will be what he does in the summer. As it stands we have 1 senior striker contracted with Bonne, Norwood and Jackson all set to go (unless contracts happen).

I think the summer is going to be a time we need to really work hard on getting the right strikers in.

I don't think Jackson is it.

Norwood: In September, Norwood will be 32 - which is a tough age for a striker, you generally peak around 26-28 - so he's not one for the future (and no, this isn't fueled by my dislike for the guy)

Bonne: I don't see us signing him unless we go up.

Pigott: Whether it's his fault or not being given chances - unless something changes, he's not our solution.

Chaplin: Yes, he can play as a striker - but I have serious issues with his first touch a lot of the time, he's handy - but we need better.

It goes beyond that though I think. We're very good individuals, but we remain very unbalanced, a result in the clear out followed by a haphazard approach to recruitment in the summer which at times seemed like someone had found a cheat on Football Manager.

How many number 10's did we have? One less with Fraser, but Cook was even calling Harper a number 10 before the end. It'll need another reshuffle in the Summer I fear, and that could inevitably mean that those at contract ends are highly unlikely to see an offer.

You're not wrong. Much of the summer was slapdash. We can't fix that in January though. Really intelligent recruitment needs to happen in the summer, regardless of our fate this year. Cook got a bit right, but he got too much wrong.

I feel the moves we made yesterday, as well as Celina, Bonne, Carroll, Bakinson (option to buy), Jackson, Thompson, Aluko (1 yr option), Norwood (1yr option) all potentially leaving will provide plenty of scope for KM to solidify and balance the team.
